Floyd Okie Dokes Ravens, Returns to Chargers

With the cutting of Derrick Mason to save some salary under the new CBA, Baltimore, not yet ready to give rookie Torrey Smith the 2nd slot, needed a new receiver.

Floyd would have been a nice deep threat for Flacco.

They were all ready to ink best available receiver Malcom Floyd on Friday. Reports from both Baltimore and around the league said it was only a matter of time before Floyd was in purple.

As per the theme of the offseason, nothing went as predicted.

Derrick Mason to the Jets: Not Quite Yet

It seemed like a sure bet earlier in the week after former Raven Derrick Mason visited the Jets that he will never wear the purple and black again.

But not so fast.

Despite most media outlets assuming Mason would join Rex Ryan in New York after the team cut wideout Jerricho Cotchery, Aaron Wilson of Ravens Insider tweeted today that Mason is still thinking it all over.

Mason is taking time to decide if he wants to go to New York, or return to Baltimore or even Tennessee.

The 37-year old wide receiver, cut by the Ravens after the new CBA, has collected interest from the New York Jets, the Tennessee Titans, and the Baltimore Ravens who are looking to bring him in for less than what he was originally supposed to make in 2011.
