As college football begins to flirt with the outlandish with both their uniforms, – see: University of Maryland – many sports are beginning to follow suit.
Welcome to the state of Maryland, home to crabcakes, The Wire, and a lacrosse hotbed. With 21 players in the top 100 for this season, ten teams in the Powerade Fab 50 to end the 2011 season, and the best team in the nation entering the 2012 season (Calvert Hall), Maryland has turned into the place to be for top-notch lacrosse.
Stevenson University, a small college located well north of Baltimore, has unveiled their new helmets for 2012, hoping the curb appeal will bring in some of that top-notch talent.

The helmets incorporate three key ideas unique to Stevenson. First, their rich green color is the basis, giving the helmet an initial “pop.” Their logo, the Mustang, is prominently displayed on the side in the colors of Maryland’s state flag.
More of the Maryland pride is seen at the top of the helmet, showing shades of UMD’s football helmets from their opening game against Miami.
And the greatest part of the helmet: the Baltimore skyline is stretched across the back.
And don’t forget the gloves.
