The problem that has been worrying all Baltimore Ravens fans since the beginning of the season is now solved.
On Tuesday, two days after the Ravens first loss, an embarrassing defeat at the hands of the Tennessee Titans, he and the team agreed on a five year deal that will keep Ngata in Baltimore through the 2016 season.
Ngata, widely considered the best defensive tackle in the league and possibly the best player on the Ravens, has ten tackles, a forced fumbled, and two pass deflections through two games in 2011.
According to Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens had until 4 o’clock this afternoon to reach a deal with the dominant d-lineman, and were able to get a deal done within an hour.
The specifics of the contract are not yet known.
3:23 ET: It is being reported that Ngata will make $40 million in the first two years of his contract, more than any other non-quarterback in the league.
